Christmas · Big Rapids, Michigan
Come and worship this Christmas. Wherever you land.
If you searched for a Christmas Eve service in Big Rapids, here's the honest answer about us — and some help finding somewhere good if you're deciding this week.
Where it stands
We haven’t announced one yet.
TheWay is a new church forming in Big Rapids, and we’re still gathering the people before we find the room. There’s no building and no regular service time yet, so we’re not going to put a Christmas Eve service on a page and hope it holds.
If a Christmas gathering is set, the people on the interest list will know the day, the time and the place before it’s public anywhere else. That’s the whole reason the list exists.
In the meantime, Bible studies are already meeting in living rooms and over coffee around town, and you’re welcome at one before Christmas.
If you’re deciding this week
Go somewhere. Honestly.
Big Rapids has a lot of churches for a town its size, and most of them hold something on Christmas Eve. Go to one. We’d rather you spend Christmas singing about Christ being born than sitting at home waiting for us to be ready.
If you’re not sure how to choose, we wrote an honest guide to the churches in Big Rapids — what to actually look for, and the questions worth asking a pastor. It doesn’t name anybody, and it isn’t a pitch for us.
And if it’s been years, Christmas is the service most people come back to. Nobody is counting how long it’s been. If that’s you, this was written for you: I left church, but I still believe in God.
Why any of it matters
The reason there’s a Christmas at all.
The shepherds were working a night shift when the sky opened. They weren’t religious professionals and they weren’t expecting anything. They went to see, and then they told everyone they met.
That’s still how it works. You don’t have to clean yourself up first, and you don’t have to understand all of it before you come. What we believe and why is written out plainly on the beliefs page, in words you can check.

One note if there’s a Christmas gathering, and one when there’s a room and a service time. Unsubscribe whenever.
